Blizzard details in-game winter celebrations for its various titles
Now that the holiday season is in full swing, Blizzard has been kind enough to provide a summary of all the different winter-themed activities players can now participate in when they next hop into games like Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch.
According to a press release from Blizzard, the following winter events are now available:
Heroes of the Storm
The Winter Veil event is now love, allowing players to undertake a special quest chain in which they can earn exclusive cosmetic items like a Winter Veil spray and mount just by playing a certain number of games. There’s also a special Winter Veil loot chest which can contain brand new skins like Greatfather Winter Malfurion, Winter’s Helper Valla, and Season’s Reapings Malthael along with other cosmetics like a Gingerbread mount.
Hearthstone now has two holiday-themed boards which are temporarily replacing the standard Stormwind and Orgrimmar boards, as well as new festive emotes for all of the game’s heroes. From December 20-24, players will also be able to participate in a special ‘Wacky Waxy Winter’s Veil’ Tavern Brawl which will allow them to win up to three card packs from the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion.
As we previously detailed, Overwatch’s Winter Wonderland event has returned, bringing with it new cosmetic items, new holiday map makeovers, a new ‘Yeti Hunt’ competitive mode, and all of the items from last year’s event to boot.
World of Warcraft
The Feast of Winter Veil has come to Azeroth once again, which means World of Warcraft players can now visit Ironforge, Orgrimmar, or Dalaran to participate in new holiday quests, check out the brand new Giant Snow Globes, and grab the new ‘Finely Tailored Holiday Hat’ item which drops from certain Legion dungeon and raid bosses.
All of the above events will naturally be around for a limited time only, so be sure to check them out while you can.
